Rajah Gainey – Nonprofit Development

Rajah Gainey is a graduate of Cal State University San Marcos, with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development. He has over fifteen years of experience working on behalf of children, families, and communities impacted by the child welfare system. Rajah is currently the Individual and Corporate Gifts Manager at Promsies2kids where he raises funds to support the program serving San Diego foster youth. Rajah works with a number of community partners on an annual basis to create corporate sponsorship opportunities for Promsies2kids, and or personal gifts to support their core key programs.

Promises2Kids creates a brighter future for foster children in San Diego County. From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support, and opportunities these special individuals need to change their lives for the better…now and for years to come. The core programs include – A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center, Camp Connect, Guardian Scholars, and Foster Funds.

In addition to he’s work at Promises2kids, Rajah’s passion for child welfare advocacy and improving the lives of children and families who are impacted by abuse and neglect in both the juvenile and child welfare system led him to join the Board of Directors of Walden Family Services and Loins Camp Jack. He has served as a board member for Walden since 2011 and for Lions Camp Jack since 2012.

Rajah’s goal is to introduce Promises2kids to individual and corporate partners who are looking to make an impact in a child’s life through personal gifts, corporate sponsorships, or even corporate grants. Promises2kids also provides a number of volunteer opportunities so that community partners can also have the chance to see where their support is going.
